![]() The idea of Keybase is much better than the reality IMHO I really feel like someone dropped the ball on this one. Too bad this is the case, because a solid way to provably link online identities to various accounts would be a very useful service. the person responsible for an identity might change). This severely restricts usability in my case, where email addresses change on a whim and might involve ownership changes too (ie. According to former Facebooks CSO Alex Stamos (whos now consulting for Zoom), they plan to add end to end encryption for all paid users: The truth is that what Zoom wants to do with end-to-end encryption, nobody’s really done, so there’s no product that you could just slap onto Zoom to turn it into key encryption. I'm not sure why the device keys are not wrapped using the user's password and stored on Keybase (as is the typical implementation for this type of encryption), nor do I understand why e-mail addresses are immutable and cannot be changed even with complete knowledge of all the account keys. Considering this is very different from essentially every other online account, that information needs to be made explicitly clear and acknowledged by the user before creating an account. But it did promise to lets its users know - with plenty of time - if anything would be changing with the availability of Keybase in general.I don't think the problem is so much (mis)understanding/mistakes as it is poor implementation and lack of documentation from Keybase.ĭuring signup there is absolutley nothing to inform the user that the account key != username/password (at least there wasn't when I did my sign-ups). The company told its own users that ".Keybase's future is in Zoom's hands," Keybase wrote on its blog. ![]() It supports, for example, Bitcoin wallets, but also has its own end-to-end encryption chat called Keybase Chat. Keybase is open source and works by taking social media identities and building encryption keys around this information. Some of the interesting facts about Keybase:- The flaw was reported to Zoom and fixed in Keybase 5.6.0 for Windows and Keybase 5.6.1 for macOS and Linux. The patches were released on 23 January 2021, so if you are still using the old version, immediately update your Keybase client. "We believe this will provide equivalent or better security than existing consumer end-to-end encrypted messaging platforms, but with the video quality and scale that has made Zoom the choice of over 300 million daily meeting participants, including those at some of the world's largest enterprises," said Zoom. Flaws in deleted keybase kept chat update. Zoom was sued for allegedly overstating video chat security standards Hosts will have access to, and allocate, the encryption keys to clients and those who are attending the calls. I'm not worried about Zoom being a threat to the data in Keybase. Fix attachments icon size on zoom in/out (2853) Fix ignored errors in API. Keybase is an end-to-end encrypted product with very few places where the server and backend are trusted. Webhooks for repo creation/deletion (1663) Complete push webhooks. ![]() If Zoom gets feature parity with Keybase, great. ![]() Instead, this feature will be for paid accounts, said Zoom on its blog. If Keybase becomes 'Zoom Keybase' but continues cruising along, great. The end-to end encryption that Zoom aims to build will not be for those who use Zoom's free services. The company is now even being sued by a shareholder for overstating the security of its platform. Some school districts even banned students and teachers from using Zoom for educational purposes. Quickly, people started to look for other options, including Google Hangouts, now called Google Meet. The issue, with people gaining access to Zoom calls who aren't supposed to be there, grew rapidly as the number of people adopting Zoom during the coronavirus pandemic rose as well. The plan to is eventually have end-to-end to encryption inside Zoom, something that users may appreciate as well, as the service has been plagued with unwanted callers hacking into video streams, a phenomena now known as zoombombing. Zoom, which acquired Keybase in 2020, became a CVE Numbering Authority (CNA) in April 2021, and initially stated it would no longer issue CVEs for vulnerabilities with a CVSS severity rating of low or medium. Video conferencing company Zoom has bought Keybase, an encryption firm, for an undisclosed price, looking to weave the technology into its video conferencing platform.

These negatives do not make Skatebird bad by any means. While it is a personal preference it feels as though the heavy depth of field effect covering the entire game works to its detriment, I myself find blurring the background visually unappealing, as it hides a great deal of the effort put into the levels, and obscuring what is in front of you. This is not a huge issue, but it ruins the point of setting objectives if it is so easy to cheat them, even by accident. Obviously, the intention was that you would do them at these spots, but after visiting them you could do the tricks anywhere else on the map. The time constraints on some of the missions are extremely tight, even when using the accessibility options that slow down the pace of the game. ![]() One mission required me to travel to certain spots and do a trick. Skatebird could have been a more casual and relaxed skating game, but there are some big difficulty spikes as progression occurs. A lack of care with the level objectives also brought it down somewhat. ![]() The camera particularly wants to work against you, spinning around you when you respawn and glitching out every once in a while. It feels somewhat rough around the edges. Skatebird also replicates the mission style of these earlier Tony Hawk games, meeting characters (in this case birds) throughout levels who ask you to collect letters, perform tricks in specified areas, and earn a certain amount of points within a time limit. SkateBIRD involves birds skating in mini-sized arenas, with the player able to choose from a number of different bird types and clothing for their pint-sized avatar. Its rare that a video games name is so descriptive of its content, but thats SkateBIRD in a nutshell. You are also considerably more sensitive to knocking into things than the likes of Tony Hawk, Chad Muska and Bob Burnquist as hitting a wall will usually result in you tumbling off your skateboard. SkateBIRD is an upcoming skating game that stars birds. ![]() Should you fly off a table you tend to fall far slower than you would in other games, as your bird flaps its wings, giving the game a floaty feel befitting your avian extreme athlete. Above all else, skate birds try their best Grind on bendy straws, kick-flip over staplers, and carve killer lines through cardboard and sticky tape parks, in SKATEBIRD® Youre a lonely lil. The game does diverge in some interesting ways. It is a game that is nearly instantly familiar to those who have spent multiple hours playing the Tony Hawk’s games of the mid-2000s – ollies, grabs, flip tricks and so on – are all bound to the same buttons, and it is smooth in its replication of these interactions. Skatebird takes its inspiration heavily from skating games of the past like Tony Hawk, with a few avian additions. ![]() ![]() ![]() It can and will travel through wormholes if the route is faster. The scientific explanation for why an iceberg will float on its side comes from a simple interaction between two forces, gravity and the water’s buoyancy. “I combined this with my knowledge of scientific computing and made a web app, Iceberger.” Another online simulator, Iceberger Remixed, was created soon after where users can choose preset shapes and see how melting will affect the icebergs. “After reading the thread on the tweet, I saw that there is a really simple mathematical explanation for the underlying principle of how an iceberg floats,” he said.
